College basketball recruiters were working overtime during the weekend. The college basketball recruiting weekend featured prospects participating in Adidas, Under Armour, and Nike events. According to bookie PPH experts, legacy players and other top prospects were in the spotlight.
We consolidated various scouting reports on potential recruits. Here are some of the players that caught the eye of the top recruiters nationwide.
College Basketball Recruiting Weekend
Kiyan Anthony
Kiyan Anthony, stepping out of his father’s shadow, made a strong impression this spring. He demonstrated to basketball betting picks experts that he is a force to be reckoned with, independent of his lineage. His performance was consistent throughout the weekend, starting with a 25-point game against the PSA Cardinals. He followed this up with an 18-point game against ProSkills, and a standout performance of 28 points, six boards, three steals, and three assists against Team Final. Most of his points were earned within the game’s flow, showcasing his ability to contribute without dominating the ball.
His pull-up technique was second to none. Multiple strategies allowed him access to it, including penalizing defenders for not raising their hands, exploiting transitional gaps, and incarcerating defenders in ball-screen operations. His ability to make layups in the paint, his footwork off the grab, and his ability to guard smaller players in the post were all outstanding.
Syracuse head coach Red Autry and two assistants were among the attendees, who were there to recruit. Even LeBron James went over to watch much of the game, and Carmelo Anthony was a constant presence on the baseline.
Koa Peat
Koa Peat received a lot of attention from college recruiters. From Gilbert, Arizona’s Perry High School, 6-foot-8 forward Peat has a short list of ten schools, including Arizona, Arkansas, Baylor, Duke, Houston, North Carolina, Texas, and UCLA. Peat claims he has not heard back from either Kentucky or Michigan since Mark Pope and Dusty May were appointed head coaches, even though they were previously on the list.
Peat has been on official visits to Texas, North Carolina, and Michigan this summer and will visit Houston on June 6.
Bryce James
In Indianapolis, Bryce James gave it his all in a showdown against Nightyrdas, a top Nike EYBL Circuit team where some great coaches saw him. Although the rest of his squad was having trouble scoring, James was the only one who could consistently do it.
By far, this was Bryce’s most aggressive offensive performance to date. He played with assurance and wasn’t afraid to unleash his shot. With his dad watching from the bench, James scored 21 points on 6-of-11 shooting, including 5-for-11 from beyond the arc. He also contributed five rebounds.
Darryn Peterson
At the end of April, Darryn Peterson reopened his recruitment and was ranked as the third-best Junior class recruit overall. According to pay per head experts, he had eight teams remaining— North Carolina, Arkansas, Indiana, Baylor, Kansas, Michigan, Kentucky, and Ohio State—but he witnessed head coaching changes at half of those schools in the spring.
