The slot parlors at the Plainridge Park Casino, Encore Boston Harbor, and MGM Springfield got $84 million in gross gaming revenue in March. Also, they paid more than $24 million in fees and taxes to the state.
The Gaming Commission said that the amount collected last month was more than what they got since February 2020. The slots parlor and casinos operate under a Gaming Commission scheme that determines maximum capacity based on the number of workers, gaming positions, and other factors. March was the best month for Encore Boston Harbor and MGM Springfield. The casino saw bettors wagered $216 million in slot machines. Also, it broke the record set in March 2019 by around $12 million. MGM earned $18 million from slots in March and $4 million from table games. Thus, its total revenue last month was $22 million.
