NBA team owner, Tilman Fertitta, plans to open a high-end casino on the Las Vegas Strip. At present, he owns the Golden Nugget Casino on the Strip. Also, he is planning to buy a prime property for his next casino project.
Most of the new hotel-casino projects in Las Vegas are found between the Wynn Resort and the Strat properties. Gambling and sports forum users call it the North Strip. Caesars Entertainment and MGM Resorts expect their new competitors to rise on the North Strip.
Notwithstanding lodging and casino competition, the gaming and hotel goliaths need to battle with a wide range of entertainment options that draw clients from their properties. They include an NBA/NHL-quality field, show settings, different computer-generated simulation encounters, and an enormous Ferris wheel that incorporates installed bars.
NBA Team Owner Plans High-End Casino
Fertitta is the owner of the Houston Rockets in the NBA. He will pay around $200 million for the 6-acre property. Also, several establishments occupy the property, including a restaurant, retail space, and a Travelodge motel.
According to a sports betting directory, the deal is not yet finalized. However, Fertitta expects the deal to complete in the next couple of months. Reports indicated that Grindi Capital owns the property next to the site.
Las Vegas developer Brett Torino has a retail complex nearby. Also, he is constructing another retail complex across the street from his existing property.
According to online sports wagering reports, Fertitta bought the Rockets in 2017. Aside from the Rockets, he is also the owner of Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Landry’s Seafood House, and Saltgrass Steak House. In 2010, he privatized Landry’s with a $1.4 billion deal. In addition, Fertitta wrote a book in 2021 that detailed his career in the entertainment and dining industries.
