Las Vegas Sands has announced that it will invest an enormous $8 billion in a new integrated resort tower in Singapore. The company is portraying the project as a brand-new venture rather than a mere extension of its current Marina Bay Sands facility.
The "Marina Bay Sands IR2" project is set to include its casino amenities. These include a primary casino area in the podium and "sky gaming" in the new tower. There will also be 570 luxury suites, a 15,000-seat arena, 110,000 square feet of MICE space, a SkyPark, and high-end food and drink.
They want to remain competitive in the Asian casino market as Thailand and Japan gear up for their casinos.
