BetMGM has been fined $146,000 by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission due to a software error, much exceeding the previous record of $5,000.
BetMGM admitted on Thursday that it accepted 146 live sports bets worth slightly over $2,000 during a three-hour, pre-launch test on November 16. As part of a cooperation agreement with the state regulatory authorities, BetMGM agreed to pay the Maryland punishment.

Maryland is not joking around. Good training for them though, seeing as they want to issue dozens of licenses eventually.
