An emergency meeting called on Friday was still insufficient for Gaming Commission members to agree on specific dates for the potential launch of sports wagering here, but they were able to agree on broad time frames for the start of in-person and mobile betting next year.

Commissioners agreed to set "late January" as the launch date for Category 1 sports betting operators, which include the state's two casinos and one slots parlor, and "early March" for Category 3 or mobile operators. The Category 2 process, which includes the state's two simulcasting centers, is on hold while the commission awaits more information from those facilities, according to officials.

The inability of these people to decide on a firm timeline leaves me less confident of their ability to actually be able to process regulations, licensing, and all that. They are wasting a perfectly good sports betting season delaying everything. But the indecisiveness can affect market confidence. I hope the Governor pushes for a more solid timeline and plan here.

Aside from running my own online sportsbook, I do enjoy traveling since my bookie pay per head solutions is helping me get my work done easily.
