Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney is not worried that the team didn’t sign any players in the 2024 transfer portal during the offseason. He said it was not intentional, and they looked at some players. In addition, Swinney said they would focus on the incoming recruiting class. According to sports betting software reviews and news sites, Clemson signed a whole class of players transferring from high school.
Despite the transfer portal’s growing importance to teams looking to strengthen their roster considering the new name, image, and likeness (NIL) regulations, Clemson has stuck with tried-and-true methods.
Clemson is the sole non-service academy school that did not participate in the transfer portal. The only FBS teams that did not land a transfer this offseason are the Army, Navy, and Air Forces.

In addition, Swinney boasted that Clemson’s graduation success rate was the highest in college football and any Power 5 institution in the last twenty years and that many of his players stayed in school longer than the average for Power 5 programs. Some people who want to open a football betting business praised Clemson’s sports programs.
While Swinney avoided discussing his position on NIL and the transfer site at his ACC PM appearance, he has previously stated his preference for a more traditional method.
During that period, Swinney reiterated his strong criticism of the NIL system, describing it as out of control, unsustainable, and an absolute mess due to the absence of definitive regulations. He believes this issue needs urgent attention and resolution.
2024 Recruiting Class
However, Clemson has the eleventh-best recruiting class in the country for 2024. Between 2015 and 2020, the Tigers failed to lose more than two games in any given season and only dropped four games overall.
Additionally, Clemson made it to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game no less than four times, with two victories. After 2020, Clemson was still a formidable opponent but no longer in the National Championship hunt.
The Tigers went 10-3 in 2021 and went on to win the ACC title in 2022, finishing 11-3. Last year, Clemson’s record fell to 9-4, its worst since Swinney’s second year as head coach (2010), when it also registered less than ten victories.
Swinney’s only chance of being competitive is to change his attitude and become more involved with the transfer portal, but he must adhere to his principles for now.
